Melissa DeFaccio, CCC-SLP received her BA in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Master’s degree from Western Washington University. Melissa has experience working with children in a hospital pediatric outpatient clinic, as well as the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Her clinical interests include pediatric feeding and swallowing, augmentative and alternative communication, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, and autism spectrum disorders.
In August 2012, Melissa became trained in The Speech-EZ Apraxia Program, not only bringing this treatment methodology to CLASS, Inc., but also to the entire state of Washington! Melissa immediately put this training to use in her therapy sessions and has seen positive results! Melissa has great passion for working with children who have complex communication needs and strives to research the most effective treatment methods, to make therapy fun and functional!
